Red and Gold.

The Rocks, Sydney. Was crossing the Bridge on foot from town during late afternoon, so the light was doing good things when I passed this building.

Helderberg Brand

My hometown, Somerset West, was devastated by wildfire this past weekend. The fire started in the Helderberg Nature Reserve on Saturday morning. Due to high winds, it spread rapidly and caused severe damage. A number of houses burned down and horses stabled on farms near the inferno died. No fatalities have been reported and many animals were rescued.

You've Been Told.

Sydney.

In SA we're used to all sorts of aggressive deterrents. This sign was on a wall low enough to hop over with little difficulty, but i suppose people are more inclined to do as they're told elsewhere, although I'm in two minds over whether this a good thing or not.

The Suits

Boulders Beach, Simonstad. Incidentally, while taking these photos, I was having my flat broken into and my livelihood fucked with, but that's ancient history, thankfully!

Looming Large

The Sydney Harbour Bridge tends to loom if you're anywhere within one kay of it, it's a pretty big structure, so if you're in town, make sure you see it on foot!

The Workshop

The Weta Cave, Wellington, New Zealand. It took quite a bus ride to finally find this place, but was worth the effort. Small, but crammed full of more film paraphernalia than you can shake a stick at. If you're in town, and a geek, do look it up!

Never do this.

So, the rule of thumb is this: Never, EVER take photos of sunsets. Much less post them. Well, I did and now i have. So we all slip up from time to time.

Skipping.

This was taken during the 2010 World Cup semi-finals (Netherland/Uraguay) in Cape Town. It was pretty much a sea of orange, this Dutchman is pleased to say, but for those who remember, there were some solid reasons for this.

Fog Bank

This solid wall of moisture rolled in from the Atlantic, swallowing vessels and wharves in mere minutes. Waterfront, Cape Town.
